A Self-help book for Depression and Anxiety

Heal Your Mind Heal Your Life is a book based on the Cognitive Behavioural Therapy techniques that I have used throughout the last twenty years to treat clients suffering from Depression and/or Anxiety.  The book specifically focuses on changing unhealthy coping mechanisms, and negative thinking patterns, and on developing healthier coping skills including, filtering incoming negative self-talk and destructive criticism, and coping with failure and rejection.  It also addresses catastrophic thinking patterns such as, expecting the worst case scenario. 

The book consists of the same techniques that I teach clients in therapy and provides activities to replace old habits with new healthier habits of dealing with incoming negative thoughts, criticism, failure and negative situations.

I can never quite get into a non-fiction book, even if it is interesting and I would learn something valuable from it. But this book really got my attention to every word that was written in it. It has real explanations about the problems in our society and what outcomes some people face, positive or not. I would recommend this book to anyone, even if they suffer from anxiety and depression or not. It has got the advice to help people to think differently about themselves, and also the encouragement to accept yourselves for who you are, a social or a visual person

This book was so informative and explained so much about how our emotions and actions are affected by our self-esteem. The exercises make so much sense and easy to understand. I’ve read heaps of self-help books that waffle on and this book is direct, practical and straight to the point. It’s really given me so much insight. I now know what’s been holding me back in life. I love this book!!!!

A first aid kit for the mind!

I have worked with Corinne, face to face, for a number of years dealing with my PTSD and major depression. I have learned a LOT of important techniques to use when struggling with issues that pop up from my past and that flow over into my present life, career and family. I can honestly say that my life has been forever positively changed because of her guidance. Having read the print copy of this book has made me buy this kindle version so I can carry with me all of the years of wisdom and resources to call on when needed. All of the techniques used in my sessions are covered here in this book.

I can say this is a very well written book with real world examples and activities that allow you to work out exactly what YOU need from it. Each area (anxiety, depression etc) is described then explained with examples to help you make connections to problems you may have in your life. There are little ‘activities’ to work on to allow you to explore these issues within yourself and learn how ‘rationalisation’ helps break down negative thoughts and processes that are learned from years of problems (and in my case years of poor support from Physiatrists and other counsellors).

This book is a MUST have for everyone !

Excellent information and easy to read

This wonderful book gives deep insight and knowledge of the Authors years of experience Healing people suffering Depression and Anxiety.
It outlines in detail the causes and effects that can send a persons mind in a negative spiral. It is easy to read and gives the person a lot to consider when struggling with these symptoms. This book also provides a clear understanding on how to recognise the warning signs of your thinking patterns and what to do about it. The homework provided throughout the book gives practical and down to earth reminders , and gives the reader an excellent reference to be guided by, or refer back to when needed.
